The Advanced Multilayer Optics (AMO) team is delighted to welcome Nirmal Renji Mathew as a new PhD student.
Nirmal completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India, and went on to pursue his Master’s studies at LMU Munich. His Master’s thesis focused on the research and development of a charge-sharing gaseous pixel for particle detection.
During his Master’s studies, Nirmal also worked as a student researcher at UFI, where he contributed to projects involving optics for ultrashort laser applications.
For his PhD in the AMO group of Dr. Volodymyr Pervak, Nirmal will focus on the development of advanced dispersive multilayer optics across the XUV–IR spectral range.
We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to the innovative work ahead!
