The Lasers4Life clinical research program is further growing! We are excited to announce the expansion of our collaboration network and patient recruitment at four additional centers across Germany.

The first new partner to join was Wald-Klinikum Gera, followed by two outstanding clinical centers in Berlin: Evangelische Lungenklinik Berlin and Lungenklinik Heckeshorn, which is part of the Helios Group. Thanks to these new collaborations, we were able to recruit a pleasing number of patients with lung cancer, COPD, asthma and benign round lung lesions for our study!

And there is more: this spring, our local Clinic for Pneumology at the LMU Clinic also started enrolling patients. With sites both in Munich’s city center and in Großhadern, this marks an exciting extension of our network right in our own backyard. Even though it feels like a “home game” for our study team, launching a new study site is never routine. It requires thoughtful planning and meticulous execution to ensure everything is ready for successful patient recruitment.

Bringing these centers on board is a major milestone forward for our Lasers4Life research agenda. Expanding to multiple sites will not only facilitate reaching our target number of patients more quickly, but will also enable us to build a diverse patient cohort that reflects different regional and demographic characteristics. This will enrich our study in many ways.

We are looking forward to ongoing collaboration with all participating centers, medical professionals and clinical staff. Together we are eagerly advancing Lasers4Life forward!
